Oreste Foppiani is the Associate Professor of International History and Politics at Webster University Geneva, where he chairs the Department of International Relations. He earned a PhD in International History and Politics from the Graduate Institute (HEI). During his PhD program he received the Albert Gallatin Fellowship in International Affairs to spend a year at SAIS in Washington, DC. From 2013 through 2016, Foppiani was either a Visiting Research Fellow or a Visiting Associate Professor at the JMSDF Command and Staff College, Aoyama Gakuin University's SIPEC and New York University's CEMS. He has conducted research on the Spanish-American War, Anglo-American relations during WWII, early Cold War, the U.S. and Italian Navies, European integration, EU security policies, EU-U.S. relations and the migration crisis in the Mediterranean Sea.
