Giancarlo Melloni was born in Chile and lived and studied in Italy and the UK where he obtained a MSc at the University of London. He worked for several years in the corporate world in the UK, and as a civil servant for the British Foreign Office. He has lectured on business strategy and economics in several European universities including the London School of Economics and HEC University of Geneva. He has been at Webster University Geneva since 2006 teaching economics, development economics, and political economy. For the purpose of obtaining a PhD, he is currently engaged in research on institutional entrepreneurship in the context of technology standards with a focus on SMEs.
