Global IR Students Tour the UN

UN Library Visit

On September 6, as part of the Global International Relations program, students had the opportunity to visit the United Nations Offices of Geneva, where they enjoyed a 3-part program. Accompanied by Jeanette Tantillo, faculty on the International Relations department, they were first taken on a guided tour of the UN Library including the restricted stacks area. They then toured the UN building and its conference facilities to learn about the history and current uses of the space for UN meetings and negotiations. After lunch in the UN cafeteria, the day finished with a private coffee-break discussion with an UN-NGO Liaison Officer who talked about her years of experience working for and with the UN to promote environmental and sustainable development issues.
