On Wednesday, November 29th, the Media Communications and Photography department organized the Annual Media Showcase which was an opportunity for students to present the production work they made in their classes.

The event was opened by department Head, Francesco Arese Visconti who introduced and welcomed the head of the Visual Arts Program at the International School of Geneva (Ecolint, La Grande Boissière campus), Gilles Grassioulet, as the event also hosted a photography exhibition by students from Ecolint.

Webster students from all undergrad departments (International Relations, Psychology, Economics, School of Business & Technology) had the chance to address over 70 attendees and share the background story and adventurous moments they’ve encountered during the making-of their work. They presented photography, video, podcast, and written work with powerful messages regarding mental health, inner critics, usage of smartphones and more.

After the presentations in the LLC Commons room, the audience enjoyed a complimentary cocktail and announcement of the three best photographs by Ecolint students. All three places received awards, with first place winning an iPad an 1 ticket to Webster-partnered event, TEDx Carouge.

This event is held at the end of every year and is open to public, as well as family and friends of the participants. The department encourages interdisciplinary activities and emphasizes the importance of media in today's world, as we all are direct contributors and users of today’s media, at least through our smartphones.

All student work will be available in Webster Geneva's online magazine at 78magazine.webster.ch.
