Geneva is known worldwide as a city of great influence in world affairs, as a crossroads of culture, as a sophisticated financial center and as a gateway to the Alps. Webster’s presence in Switzerland allows our students to learn through a practical, global lens. Geneva (officially the Republic and Canton of Geneva) is a place where over 40% of residents come from outside of Switzerland: a highly diverse and welcoming destination for international diplomacy, global business and personal recreation.

As the founding city of humanitarian action with the establishment of the Red Cross, and now a leading center for multilateral diplomacy, Geneva has direct influence around the globe through the people and organizations that comprise "Genève Internationale." The United Nations Office in Geneva, various international organizations (working across trade, health, migration, labor and human rights) and scores of non-governmental organizations bring a rich and unparalleled international diversity (video).

The Lake Geneva region is also regional or global headquarters for dozens of multinational companies, and the city has a longstanding tradition as a vibrant banking and trading center. Geneva is home to high-quality universities, a leader in science, technology and innovation, and host of the CERN, where the internet was founded.

Our programs and courses at Webster Geneva Campus take full advantage of this rich learning context. Professors regularly invite guest speakers to the classroom, integrating real-world exposure at the forefront of their disciplines. The university hosts various academic conferences and public panel discussions ranging across topics that inspire creativity or address the more critical global challenges of our time. Our students regularly conduct internships in the international public, private and NGO sectors, and many of our graduates stay to live and work in the region.

Geneva’s location is also ideal for those who want to explore Switzerland and Europe. The city is a gateway to recreation in the Swiss and French Alps. There is a train station right on the Webster Geneva Campus, with trains to Geneva city center every 15 minutes that gives students direct access to the rest of Switzerland's cities and connections by train to even its high mountain villages.

Our American-stye campus is just a few kilometers from the Geneva International Airport (also accessible by train). One can easily fly directly to most major European cities from Geneva in less than one hour for weekend excursions.
